How to come up with good topics to write a research paper on

If you are looking for ways to come up with good topics for your research paper then keep reading…

The prewriting phase of your essay process is one where you prepare the ideas that you are going to include before you actually start writing. You will find that it is much easier to write an essay if you have an outline, especially for a long assignment.

There are six prewriting steps that you should follow:

Step 1:

Think carefully about your topic. Ask yourself what question your essay is going to answer. Ask yourself how you can best answer this question. Ask yourself what aspect of the answer is the most important. Ask yourself how you can craft a thesis statement from the most important aspect of your answer. Ask yourself which facts you can use to support the thesis. Then ask yourself how you can make your essay interesting and whether you need additional facts to write it. If you do, then figure out where you will get those facts.

Step 2:

Take out a piece of paper and write down your answers to the questions listed above. Writing them down will help you to remember why your essay is important and how you are going to write it.

Step 3:

Gather all of the facts that you need to support your thesis. Make sure you have facts that are precisely related to your thesis. Adding random facts that are loosely related won’t make your argument any stronger and will only result in more work for you.

Step 4:

Write down your personal thoughts. Write down what you have to say about the paper. Write down why you think people should be interested and why this topic is truly important.

Step 5:

Find your main ideas for each paragraph in the body of your text.

Step 6:

Organize your information in such a way as to support your thesis. Every point you make in the body of your text should support your thesis statement. It should tie back to the main idea. So look over your facts and your ideas and find the ones that best support your thesis.
